White River

Location and Access

White River is located in Hamilton County, Indiana. The river spans over 25 miles through the county and some parts of central and southern Indiana.

On the Water Fun

There are some great fishing opportunities in the White River. Smallmouth bass is the primary “game fish,” but other species here are largemouth bass, channel catfish, carp, sauger, and rock bass.

There is no swimming allowed in the river, however, people are allowed to use kayaks and canoes and experience fishing opportunities.

Hospital and Airport

The IU health Morgan General Hospital is located about eight miles away, and the Indianapolis International Airport is located about 40 minutes north.

City of Indianapolis

Under an hour away from the state’s capital, is the city of Indianapolis. There are lots to do and see in this city.

Indianapolis is known for many different sports attractions and museums. It is also home to the largest children’s museum in the country!

This “sports-crazy city” is great for watching games downtown and enjoying the restaurant scene.
